Richard Brasher, head of Tesco Plc (TSCO)’s U.K. and Ireland business, may leave the company this year after 25 years, Sky News reported, without saying where it got the information. His departure could be announced in a statement to the stock exchange as soon as tomorrow, Sky said.
Tesco Chief Executive Officer Philip Clarke will take over the running of the retailer’s U.K. business after Brasher leaves, Sky said. Brasher’s terms are being negotiated this evening and it’s still possible he may not leave the company, Sky reported.
A Tesco spokeswoman declined to comment when contacted by telephone outside office hours today.
