Chilean Stocks: Molymet, Quinenco and Sud Americana de Vapores
The following companies had unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Santiago.
Cia. Sud Americana de Vapores SA (VAPORES CC) rose 3.6 percent to 105.55 pesos. Latin America’s largest container shipping company has increased 6.6 percent in the past two days, its biggest two-day gain in three months, after it raised $1.2 billion in a capital increase. Quinenco SA (QUINENC), the holding company of Chile’s billionaire Luksic family, bought $547 million of the new Vapores shares and became the company’s controller with a 37 percent stake, CSAV said yesterday in a statement.
Quinenco SA (QUINENC CC) retreated 1.2 percent to 1,510 pesos.
Molibdenos & Metales SA (MOLYMET CC) increased 3.2 percent to 8,000 pesos, its highest price in almost five months. The world’s largest molybdenum processor has jumped 10 percent since Feb. 8 as it announced plans to invest $400 million through 2016.
