Thailand Stocks: Sri Trang Agro, Tongkah Harbour, Total Access
The SET Index (SET) rose 0.7 percent to 1,098.95, the highest close since Aug. 4, extending a weekly gain to 2.1 percent. The gauge had a fifth weekly advance, the longest winning streak since April.
Sri Trang Agro-Industry Pcl (STA) , the nation’s largest rubber producer, climbed 1.9 percent to 21.70 baht. Rubber futures gained as much as 1.3 percent to 315.1 yen a kilogram ($4,136 a metric ton) before settling at 314.7 yen on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange.
Tongkah Harbour Pcl (THL) , a gold producer, jumped 15 percent to 0.46 baht, the most since April 2010. Spot gold reached $1,761.18 yesterday, the most expensive since Dec. 2.
Total Access Communication Pcl (DTAC) , Thailand’s second-biggest mobile-phone company, gained 3.7 percent to 69.75 baht, the steepest advance since Dec. 16. Total Access will be a prime beneficiary of Thailand’s 3G license auction in the second half, Phatipak Navawatana, an analyst at KGI Securities, wrote in a note today.
