Ex-Deputy Moscow Mayor to Advise Orthodox Patriarch on Building
Vladimir Resin, a former deputy of ousted Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov, was appointed a construction adviser to the head of the Russian Orthodox Church.
In his role advising Patriarch Kirill, Resin will oversee construction of 200 churches around the outskirts of Moscow, the Patriach’s office said today on its official website.
Resin, 74, was in charge of construction in the Moscow government led by Luzhkov, who was fired by President Dmitry Medvedev in 2010 amid corruption allegations after 18 years at the helm of Europe’s largest city.
