Mauritius Companies Plan Mozambique Investment, l’Express Says

Mauritian companies plan to invest as much as 1.4 billion rupees ($47 million) in Mozambican agriculture, l’Express reported, citing promoters.
The figure is higher than an initial plan to invest 900 million rupees, the Port Louis-based newspaper said. Cie. des Trois Amis will spend 600 million rupees on rice cultivation more than 4,000 hectares while British American Investment Co. will invest 850 million rupees in maize, sunflower and soy plantings, according to the newspaper.
