U.S. Iron and Steel Scrap Use and Stockpiles for September

Following is a table detailing U.S. iron and steel-scrap and pig-iron receipts, production, consumption, shipments and stockpiles for September, according to the U.S Geological Survey in Reston, Virginia. Iron and steel scrap are used in the production of new steel and cast-iron products. Automobiles are the primary source of steel scrap.
