Vietnam’s Equity Movers: Saigon Securities, Domesco Medical
Shares of the following companies had unusual (VNINDEX) moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close.
The VN Index, the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, fell for a fifth day, dropping 0.5 percent to 375.30, the lowest close since May 2009.
Saigon Securities Joint-Stock Co. (SSI) fell 1.2 percent to 16,100 dong, the lowest close since Nov. 30. The company will shut down its Ham Long branch in Hanoi from Dec. 26, according to a statement filed on the exchange’s website.
Domesco Medical Import Export Joint-Stock Co. (DMC) , a maker of pharmaceutical products, slumped 4.9 percent to 19,500 dong, the lowest close since June 3. Ban Viet Health Securities Investment Fund, a major shareholder, will cut its stake in the company to 2.8 percent from 9.6 percent from Dec. 14 until Feb. 14, Domesco said in a statement on the bourse’s website.
