Greek Opposition Leader Asks for New Government to Secure Loans

Antonis Samaras, the leader of Greece’s biggest opposition party, called for a transitional government to take over from Prime Minister George Papandreou to secure continued financing from international partners for the country.

Elections must be held as soon as possible after the financing is secured, Samaras said in statements televised on state-run NET TV. He said the country must stay in the euro.
