Thailand’s Yingluck Says Bangkok Flooding to Last Up to a Month
Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said floodwaters will eventually affect all of Bangkok and may take as long as a month to recede.
“The water will pass through all of Bangkok, which will experience as much as a month of flooding,” Yingluck told reporters today in Bangkok. “The water level will depend on the elevation of the area. We will try to pump it out as fast as possible.”
Yingluck said the government doesn’t plan to move the Flood Relief Operations Command from Don Mueang airport, which suspended flights two days ago because of rising floodwaters.
