Pfizer Plans to Cut Spanish Workforce by 11%, Expansion Reports

By Manuel Baigorri - Sep 21, 2011

Pfizer Inc (PFE) plans to cut its workforce in Spain by 11 percent, or 220 employees, because of the financial crisis in Europe and Spanish regulatory measures to reduce pharmaceutical spending, Expansion reported.

The cuts will affect the administrative and sales forces, while employees at Pfizer’s plants in Madrid and Olot in Girona province won’t be affected, the newspaper said, citing the company.
