Ahmad, Berjaya Sports, Kencana, TA: Malaysia Equity Preview

Malaysia’s FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBMKLCI) Index rose 0.6 percent to 1,419.04.
Ahmad Zaki Resources Bhd. (AZR) : The construction company agreed to build a teaching hospital for Malaysia’s International Islamic University at a cost of 412.6 million ringgit ($130 million). Ahmad Zaki will manage the hospital for more than 21 years as part of a concession agreement, it said in a statement. The stock was unchanged at 66 sen.
Berjaya Sports Toto Bhd. (BST) : The lottery operator said profit in the first quarter ended July 31 rose 44 percent from a year earlier to 92.1 million ringgit, according to a stock exchange filing. The shares gained 0.9 percent to 4.35 ringgit.
Formis Resources Bhd. (FMRB) : The Malaysian software company’s network services unit won a 53.8 million ringgit contract from Fibrecomm Network (M) Sdn., according to a company statement. Formis was unchanged at 77 sen.
Glomac Bhd. (GLMC) : The property developer said profit in the first quarter ended July 31 rose 15 percent from a year earlier to 17.9 million ringgit, according to a stock filing. Glomac added 0.7 percent to 1.50 ringgit.
Kencana Petroleum Bhd. (KEPB) : The oil and gas services provider’s profit in the fourth quarter ended July 31 rose 54 percent from a year earlier to 63.7 million ringgit, it said in a statement. The shares rose 1.6 percent to 2.57 ringgit.
TA Global Bhd. (TAGB) : The property and hotel group said profit in the second quarter ended July 31 quadrupled from a year earlier to 29.7 million ringgit, it said in a statement. TA was unchanged at 29 sen.
