Thailand Stocks: Advanced Info, Asia Plus, Total Access, True
Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 4:30 p.m. close in Bangkok.
The SET Index rose 6.37 points, or 0.6 percent, to 1,055.60, the first gain in four days.
Mobile-phone companies: Thailand’s Senate yesterday approved 11 members of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission, the nation’s new industry regulator, Speaker Theeradej Meepien told reporters. Mobile- phone companies will benefit from the formation of the new regulator as it will speed up the bidding for high-speed mobile- phone licenses, Porranee Thongyen, an analyst at Asia Plus Securities Pcl (ASP), wrote in a report today.
Advanced Info Service Pcl (ADVANC) , Thailand’s biggest mobile-phone company, climbed 3.5 percent to 119 baht, the most since July 4. Total Access Communication Pcl (DTAC) , the second-biggest, increased 3.2 percent to 72.5 baht. True Corp. Pcl (TRUE TB) jumped 5.1 percent to 4.16 baht.
Asia Plus Securities Pcl (ASP TB), a stock brokerage, dropped 2.5 percent to 2.68 baht, the lowest close since June 29. Investors who buy Asia Plus shares today aren’t entitled to a dividend payout of 0.08 baht a share.
