Barclays Golf Tournament Shortened to 54 Holes From 72 as Irene Approaches
The Barclays golf tournament was shortened to 54 holes from 72 because of the threat of Hurricane Irene, the PGA Tour said in a press release.
The tournament is being played at Plainfield County Club in Edison, New Jersey. The hurricane is forecast to move into that area on Sunday, when the final 18 holes were scheduled to be played.
It is the first tournament in the PGA Tour’s Playoffs for the $10 million FedEx Cup.
