UN’s Shipping Agency Appoints Sekimizu as Secretary-General

The International Maritime Organization, the United Nations’ shipping agency, named Koji Sekimizu as its secretary-general.
Sekimizu will take over the role on Jan. 1 for an initial term of four years, the IMO said in a statement today. He succeeds Efthimios Mitropoulos, it said.
