German Companies Have Record Cash Pile, Handelsblatt Reports
German companies had record cash of 121.5 billion euros ($171 billion) at the end of last year, Handelsblatt reported today, citing a survey by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
The companies with the biggest cash piles were Volkswagen AG (VOW), Siemens AG (SIE), Daimler AG (DAI), Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW) and E.ON AG (EOAN), the newspaper said, adding that German companies will probably accelerate investment and acquisition activities in the coming months.
