Thai Stock Movers: Sri Trang, Thai Rubber, Hemaraj Land
Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 10:26 a.m. in Bangkok.
The SET Index rose 5.5, or 0.5 percent, to 1,088.23.
Rubber producers: Rubber futures in Tokyo surged as much as 3.8 percent amid concern flooding in Thailand will cut supply from the world’s largest exporter.
Sri Trang Agro-Industry Pcl (STA) , Thailand’s biggest publicly traded rubber producer, rose 2.4 percent to 32.50 baht, set for its highest close since Feb. 8. Thai Rubber Latex Corp. (Thailand) Pcl (TRUBB TB) added 0.8 percent to 6.55 baht.
Hemaraj Land & Development Pcl (HEMRAJ TB), a Thai industrial land developer, gained 2 percent to 2.06 baht, headed for the biggest gain in a week. The company signed a lease with Toyoda Seiko (Thailand) to provide a ready-built factory in Rayong that will make low-pressure casting moulds and shell moulds, the Nation reported, without saying where it obtained the information.
