Benelux Stocks: Aegon, ASMI, Bois Sauvage Shares Move
The following were among the most active stocks in Benelux markets today. Symbols are in parentheses.
Aegon NV (AGN) added 1.4 percent to 5.599 euros, erasing yesterday’s drop. Scor SE, France’s largest reinsurer, is in talks to buy Aegon’s Transamerica Reinsurance unit, four people with knowledge of the matter said.
ASM International NV (ASM) rose 2.5 percent to 28.905 euros, paring yesterday’s drop. The Dutch maker of semiconductor gear was rated “buy” in new coverage at ING Groep NV.
Cie. du Bois Sauvage SA (COMB BB) jumped 8.6 percent to 220.10 euros, the highest close since October 2008. The investment firm with holdings in Berenberg Bank and chocolate maker Neuhaus SA plans to return 26 euros a share to investors through a capital reduction and raised its ordinary dividend 3 percent to 6.80 euros. Net asset value increased to 322 euros a share on March 4 from 302 euros on Nov. 10.
Option NV (OPTI) advanced 3.7 percent to 56 cents, the biggest gain since Jan. 31. The Belgian maker of wireless broadband-access devices received an additional 22 million euros ($31 million) after further extending its software-licensing agreement with Huawei Technologies Co.
Telenet Group Holding NV (TNET) fell 1.2 percent to 31.58 euros, a third consecutive decline. Liberty Global Inc.’s Dutch unit Binan Investments BV spent 4.76 million euros buying an additional 147,000 of the Belgian cable operator’s shares, according to regulatory filings. Binan acquired the shares in trades on Euronext Brussels from March 1 through March 3.
