Amway, Green Packet, Petronas Dagangan: Malaysia Equity Preview
Shares of the following companies may have unusual moves in Malaysia trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the previous close, unless stated otherwise.
The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index rose 0.1 percent to 1,506.30.
Amway (Malaysia) Holdings Bhd. (AMW MK): The direct sales company said fourth-quarter profit rose 13 percent from a year earlier to 18.3 million ringgit ($6 million) after sales gained. Amway was unchanged at 8.30 ringgit.
Dialog Group Bhd. (DLG MK): The oil and gas services provider said profit in the second quarter ended Dec. 31 climbed 26 percent from a year earlier to 36 million ringgit, according to a statement to the stock exchange. Dialog rose 1 percent to 2.13 ringgit.
Green Packet Bhd. (GRPB MK): The wireless Internet services provider said its loss for the fourth quarter narrowed to 77.7 million ringgit ($26 million) from 100.7 million a year earlier as sales surged. Green Packet was unchanged at 76.5 sen.
Hunza Properties Bhd. (HPB MK): The property developer said profit in the second quarter ended Dec. 31 fell 23 percent from a year earlier to 10 million ringgit, according to a company statement. Hunza dropped 0.6 percent to 1.66 ringgit.
Pacific & Orient Bhd. (PO MK): The insurer had a profit of 9.6 million ringgit in the first quarter ended Dec. 31 compared with a loss of 21.4 million ringgit a year earlier, it said in a statement. Its shares were unchanged at 87.5 sen.
Petronas Dagangan Bhd. (PETD MK): The retail arm of Malaysia’s state oil and gas company said profit in the third quarter ended Dec. 31 rose 26 percent from a year earlier to 236.2 million ringgit as revenue gained. The stock advanced 2.1 percent to 12.50 ringgit.
Theta Edge Bhd. (THETA MK): The telecommunications services company plans a rights offer with warrants to raise as much as 31.6 million ringgit to finance its working capital needs, according to a stock exchange filing. The shares dropped 6.3 percent to 90 sen.
Zelan Bhd. (ZELN MK): The builder said its net loss in the third quarter ended Dec. 31 narrowed to 41.3 million ringgit from 60.4 million ringgit a year earlier, it said in a statement today. Zelan fell 1.7 percent to 58 sen.
