French Stocks: Areva, Carrefour, Essilor Shares Move in Paris
France’s CAC 40 Index gained 13.21, or 0.3 percent, to 4,015.53 as of 2:49 p.m. in Paris. The broader SBF 120 Index climbed 0.2 percent.
The following is a list of companies whose shares rose or fell in the French equity market today. Stock symbols are in parentheses.
Carrefour SA (CA FP) gained 2.1 percent to 34.7 euros. The French retailer, with the backing of major shareholders, may create separate stock-exchange listings for its Dia discount chain and real-estate units, Le Figaro reported, without saying where it got the information.
Essilor International SA (EI FP) climbed 1.2 percent to 48.97 euros. The world’s largest maker of lenses for glasses was raised to “buy” from “add” at Oddo & Cie, with a target price of 58 euros per share.
Manitou BF (MTU FP) surged 4.8 percent to 20.28 euros. The industrial-vehicle maker said fourth-quarter revenue soared 35 percent to 243 million euros ($331.1 million) and forecast 20 percent revenue growth in 2011.
