Taiwan Semi in Talks to Acquire Buildings, Land in Hsinchu From Powerchip

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. is in talks to buy land, buildings from Powerchip Technology Corp. in Hsinchu to expand, Elizabeth Sun, a spokeswoman for the world’s largest contract chip manufacturer, said by telephone today.
“Nothing has been finalized yet,” Sun said. She declined to comment on a report by the Commercial Times TSMC plans to pay Powerchip NT$3 billion for the acquisition.
