Bank of China, Dongfeng Auto, Gemdale: China Equity Preview
The following companies may have unusual price changes in China trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and share prices are as of the close on Oct. 22.
Bank fundraisings: China Construction Bank Corp. (601939 CH) and Bank of China Ltd. (601988 CH) won financial regulatory approval for their plans to raise as much as a combined 135 billion yuan ($20.3 billion) to replenish capital.
Construction Bank was unchanged at 5.19 yuan. Bank of China slid 1.4 percent to 3.50 yuan.
Dairy companies: China will give 190 million yuan in interest subsidies to dairy companies on loans to buy raw milk, according to a statement posted on the Finance Ministry’s website on Oct. 22.
Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co. (600887 CH), a Chinese milk producer, rose 1.2 percent to 39.03 yuan. Bright Dairy & Food Co. (600597 CH), a Shanghai-based milk and cheese producer, gained 1.4 percent to 9.58 yuan.
Aluminum Corp. of China Ltd. (601600 CH): The country’s largest producer shut 10 percent of its aluminum-producing capacity after local governments implemented power restrictions, according to Heng Kun, a Shanghai-based analyst at Essence Securities Co. The shares declined 0.9 percent to 12.32 yuan.
Beijing Jingxi Tourism Development Co. (000802 CH): The travel operator said it had a third-quarter net loss of 101,183 yuan while revenue rose 11.4 percent from a year earlier to 45.3 million yuan. The stock added 0.2 percent to 13.61 yuan.
China Everbright Bank Co. (601818 CH): The lender said its nine-month profit probably rose more than 50 percent from a year earlier. The stock slid 4.9 percent to 4.47 yuan on Oct. 21, when trading in the shares was suspended.
China State Construction Engineering Corp. (601668 CH): The engineering company said it won six contracts valued at a combined 14 billion yuan, representing 5.4 percent of last year’s operating sales. The shares gained 0.3 percent to 3.70 yuan.
China Vanke Co. (000002 CH): The nation’s biggest listed developer said third-quarter net income increased 6 percent from a year earlier. The stock was unchanged at 8.89 yuan.
Chongqing Changan Automobile Co. (000625 CH): The automaker and Ford Motor Co. are in talks to expand their partnership in India, company President Zhang Baolin said Oct. 23 in Shanghai. The shares rose 3.1 percent to 13.09 yuan.
COFCO Property (Group) Co. (000031 CH): The developer said third-quarter net income fell 51 percent from a year earlier to 63.9 million yuan. The stock slid 0.1 percent to 7.29 yuan.
Datang International Power Generation Co. (601991 CH): The electricity producer said third-quarter net income rose 110 percent from a year earlier to 766.7 million yuan. The shares fell 1.2 percent to 7.29 yuan.
Dongfeng Automobile Co. (600006 CH): The automaker said third-quarter net income rose 21 percent from a year earlier to 157.4 milion yuan, according to a stock exchange filing. The stock climbed 4.2 percent to 6.51 yuan.
Gemdale Corp. (600383 CH): The property company said third- quarter net income fell 77 percent from a year earlier to 112 million yuan. The shares declined 0.4 percent to 6.84 yuan.
Luzhou Laojiao Co. (000568 CH): The sprits producer in southwest province of Sichuan said third-quarter net income rose 33 percent from a year earlier on sales that increased 30 percent. The stock fell 0.7 percent to 27.58 yuan.
PetroChina Co. (601857 CH): A fire at PetroChina’s Dalian refinery was put out at 2 a.m. today with no injuries and no oil or sewage spilled, the official Xinhua News Agency reported, citing an onsite work team. PetroChina, the nation’s biggest oil company, lost 1.2 percent to 11.12 yuan.
Yanzhou Coal Mining Co. (600188 CH): The listed unit of China’s fourth-biggest coal miner said net income may rise about 100 percent from a year earlier. The stock added 0.3 percent to 28.48 yuan.
