BP Said to Start Whiting, Indiana, Compressor After Storm
BP Plc restarted a wet gas compressor at its refinery in Whiting, Indiana, which tripped offline today because of storms in the area, two people familiar with the plant’s operations said.
The refinery has no other issues related to the weather, said the people, who declined to be identified because they aren’t authorized to speak for the plant.
“BP does not comment on day-to-day business operations,” Brad Etlin, a company spokesman, said in an e-mail.
The company reported the compressor trip, according to a filing at 7:34 a.m. local time, Elijah Cole, assistant director for the Lake County Homeland Security Emergency Management Agency, said in an interview.
The refinery, which provides gasoline and diesel to the Chicago market, can process 420,000 barrel a day of crude oil according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
