Sanofi-Aventis, SBM Offshore, Teleperformance SA: European Equity Preview

The Stoxx Europe 600 Index rose 1.1 percent to 258.47. The Stoxx 50 Index gained 0.7 percent to 2,518.49. The Euro Stoxx 50 Index, a benchmark for nations using the euro, advanced 1.5 percent to 2,737.69.
Ackermans & van Haaren NV (ACKB BB), Cie. d’Entreprises CFE SA (CFEB BB): Dredging Environmental & Marine Engineering NV, the dredging company co-owned by Ackermans and CFE, said one of its units was awarded a contract by Angola LNG Ltd. DEME is sharing the 155 million-euro ($200 million) contract with Royal Boskalis Westminster NV (BOKA NA). Ackermans gained 1.3 percent to 54.22 euros. CFE climbed 3.3 percent to 39.71 euros.
Sanofi-Aventis SA (SAN FP): A federal judge in Washington took under advisement a request by the Paris-based drugmaker to bar U.S. regulators from allowing sales of the generic version of its Lovenox blood thinner. The shares rose 1 percent to 45.18 euros.
SBM Offshore NV (SBMO NA): The world’s largest supplier of floating oil production platforms may report first-half profit excluding some items of $99.7 million, according to the average of seven analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg. SBM Offshore advanced 1 percent to 12.60 euros.
Teleperformance SA (RCF FP): The world’s largest operator of call centers bought 100 percent of Scotland-based beCogent for an undisclosed sum. The shares gained 2.7 percent to 18.78 euros.
Valeo SA (FR FP): Pardus Capital Management said its representative Behdad Alizadeh has resigned from the board of France’s second-largest auto-parts maker. Pardus remains “a committed Valeo shareholder, determined to maximize shareholder value,” it said in an e-mailed statement. The shares added 4.5 percent to 28.26 euros.
