Kenya Bans Powdered Milk Imports to Protect Dairy Industry, Standard Says

Kenya banned powdered milk imports To ensure there will no repeat of the oversupply of milk in the country, a situation which hurt dairy farming earlier this year, the Standard said, citing Livestock Development Minister Mohammed Kuti.
The glut forced the East African government to buy 300 million shillings ($3.7 million) of surplus milk stocks to protect the local dairy industry, the Nairobi-based newspaper reported.
