Russia Power Prices to Rise 7.6% for Industry, 10% for Citizens
Russia plans to raise electricity prices for industrial users by 7.6 percent next year and by 10 percent for the general population, according to Deputy Economy Minister Andrei Klepach.
The average tariff increase will come to 8 percent, more than previously planned, Klepach told reporters in Moscow after a government meeting today.
The state had sought to raise prices for industry by 5 percent, prior to the disaster at the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydropower plant in August, when an explosion and flood killed 75 people.
