RRI Energy Restores Output at Etiwanda Unit in California
RRI Energy Inc., a Houston-based power producer, restored output at a natural gas-fired electricity unit in California.
The 320-megawatt Etiwanda Generating Station Unit 4 was operating at full capacity as of 3:15 p.m. local time today, the California Independent System Operator said in a status report.
The unit was offline at the same time yesterday, a previous report showed. The shutdown was because of a temporary operational constraint during a normal transition from one operating range to another, according to the report.
The generator is part of a 640-megawatt station that is located east of Los Angeles in Rancho Cucamonga.
One megawatt can power 800 typical U.S. homes.
