Pantaloon’s 2nd-Quarter Net Rises, Misses Analysts’ Estimates
Pantaloon Retail India Ltd. (PF), the nation’s biggest publicly traded supermarket operator, posted second-quarter profit that missed analysts’ estimates.
Net income rose to 335.4 million rupees ($6.8 million) in the three months ended Dec. 31 from 316.5 million rupees a year earlier, the company said. Profit lagged the 372 million rupee median estimate in a survey of five analysts by Bloomberg News.
Sales at the Mumbai-based company rose 24 percent to 15.3 billion rupees, less than the 16.6 billion rupees forecast.
