The Most Exciting Cars of the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show

This week in Los Angeles the world’s automakers are showing their new wares for 2016 and beyond. Here are the best of the lot, including offerings from Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, and Alfa Romeo, plus the relaunch of that homegrown American muscle, the Chevy Camaro.

  1. Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio

    Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio

    The 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio pairs rear-wheel drive with the car’s front-mounted, all-aluminum bi-turbo V6 engine.

  2. Infiniti QX30

    Infiniti QX30

    The 2017 Infiniti QX30 has an all-wheel-drive system capable of sending up to 50 percent of output to the rear wheels, running through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

  3. Hyundai Elantra

    Hyundai Elantra

    The new Hyundai Elantra has a 2-liter, four-cylinder engine with 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. It comes with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

    The new Mercedes-Benz SL550 convertible has a V8 bi-turbo engine that gets 449 horsepower and reaches 60 miles per hour in just over four seconds.

  5. Jaguar F-Pace

    Jaguar F-Pace

    The 2017 Jaguar F-Pace is the brand’s first crossover SUV. It has a 340-horsepower, 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine.

    Only 700 will be built for worldwide sale, with just 300 of those set for the U.S. Cost: $135,000.

    The 2016 Chevy Camaro SS Convertible is a totally new-generation model, with a fabric drop-top that will deploy at speeds of up to 30 mph. It will come in turbocharged, V6, and V8 varieties.

    BMW 330e

    The 330e is one of two new plug-in hybrid models from BMW, along with the 225xe. It’s a rear-wheel-drive hybrid electric sedan.
