While the East Coast has been pining for supplies, the Gulf Coast is drowning in gasoline. The sudden shutdown of Colonial Pipeline Co.’s 1.3 million barrel-a-day gasoline pipeline pushed supplies down in the East Coast region by more than 13 percent in the seven days through Sept. 16. Stockpiles in the Gulf Coast region soared by a record 4.765 million barrels, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration.
