A surge in the number of overseas tourists visiting the U.K. after the pound’s Brexit slide helped European tourist spending revive in August. Britain’s boost offset a continued decline in France, the region’s biggest country for tourism expenditure, where concern about terrorist attacks kept visitors away. Overall spending across the region rose after two months of double-digit declines, according to Global Blue, which tracks tax-free shopping.
