- Lenterman was previously managing director at IMC in Amsterdam
- Spanbroek to become vice chairman of principal traders’ group
Remco Lenterman of Citadel Securities was appointed chairman of a European traders’ association, taking over from acting chairman and former Getco Europe Ltd. director Mark Spanbroek.
Lenterman had already served as chairman of the FIA European Principal Traders Association from 2011 to 2015, according to a statement on Monday. While Lenterman is perhaps best known for his prolific Twitter missives, he is also head of global business development at market maker Citadel.
“With Remco’s knowledge and experience, we will continue to reinforce the message that principal trading firms are a critical and consistent source of liquidity for the markets,” Spanbroek said in the statement. Spanbroek becomes vice-chairman of the association.
Lenterman was a managing director at automated trading firm IMC BV for five years. He has said that he left the Amsterdam-based company because his family wanted to move back to London. Before IMC, Lenterman was a managing director at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. where he traded stocks alongside Xavier Rolet, who is now London Stock Exchange Group Plc’s chief executive officer.
Optiver BV Corporate Affairs Manager Willem Sprenkeler will resume his role as a member of FIA EPTA’s executive committee, after serving as vice chairman for the past year.
