The rally in Brazilian stocks in 2016 amid the prospect of a new government is unmatched. While emerging-market gauges top the list of best performing global benchmarks as investors seek the higher yield of riskier assets, the Ibovespa has returned more than four times the gain in developing nations’ stocks. It’s the first time the Latin American country has outperformed the broader MSCI Emerging Markets Index since 2009.
