Zambia Closes Three Private Broadcasters, Alleges Misconduct

Zambia’s broadcasting authority suspended the licenses of two private radio stations and a television channel on allegations of misconduct.

Muvi TV, Komboni Radio and Itezhi Tezhi Radio had “caused a risk to national peace and stability,” prompting their immediate suspension from broadcasting, Justin Mutale, chairman of the Independent Broadcasting Authority, said in comments broadcast on state television on Monday.
