French planes on Sunday carried out an air raid in Raqqa, Syria, which struck and destroyed an IS heavy weapons storage facility, Agence France-Presse reports, citing France’s defense ministry.

The attack was carried out by four Rafale planes, four Mirage 2000s and an Atlantique 2, AFP said. The report cited France’s defense ministry as saying that the attack is part of preparations to recapture the city, as well as Mosul in Iraq.
