Rwandan Police Say They Shot Dead ‘Armed Terror Suspect’

Rwandan police said they killed an “armed terror suspect” after a three-hour shootout late Wednesday in the capital, Kigali.

The suspect had barricaded himself in a house in the city’s Nyarutarama area and exchanged gunfire, wounding one officer, the police said in a statement on its website.

Officers have since last year “been investigating individuals suspected of being radicalized and linked to foreign terrorist organizations” and “several have appeared in court,” the police said, without giving further details.
