Kenya’s Electoral Body Invites Bids for Supply of Ballot Papers

Kenya’s electoral body invited bidders to tender for the supply of ballot papers and voting material for general elections scheduled for August 2017.

Interested parties must submit 5 million shillings ($49,285) as bid security along with the tender, which closes on Sept. 7, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission said in a statement on its website.

Kenya, East Africa’s biggest economy, is preparing for elections in which President Uhuru Kenyatta will seek a second term in office. He’s likely to be challenged by Raila Odinga, the leader of the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy, the main opposition.
