Thailand Issues Arrest Warrant Over Suspected Tesco Lotus Arson

A Thai court issued an arrest warrant for a 32-year-old man in connection with suspected arson at a Tesco Lotus store in the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat, deputy police chief Pongsapat Pongcharoen told reporters Sunday.

One person has been arrested so far and many have been questioned about a series of explosions that occurred in southern Thailand, Pongsapat said.

Incidents at different locations are “clearly” linked to one group, Pongsapat said, adding that the cause of the incidents has yet to be established.

Four people died and 34 were injured in the explosions, which occurred across southern Thailand, according to a statement from the police on Aug. 12.
