Oil Slide Bypasses U.K. on Sterling’s Post-Brexit Rout: Chart

Oil prices have tumbled since the U.K. voted to leave the European Union -- unless you’re in Britain, with its free-falling currency. Sterling-denominated Brent crude has jumped 7 percent since the vote, in contrast to a 6.5 percent slump in dollar terms. U.K. retail fuel prices are up 2 percent from before the vote and subsequent movements in crude prices suggest further gains are possible in the weeks ahead.
