U.K. shares rose for a second day as financial firms continued their rebound.

Barclays Plc and Prudential Plc climbed more than 3.3 percent, helping push the FTSE 100 Index up 1.6 percent at 8:22 a.m. in London, with 97 of its members up. Royal Dutch Shell Plc added 2.4 percent as oil advanced, and Anglo American Plc increased 3.7 percent with commodities up.

The broader FTSE All-Share Index and Ireland’s ISEQ Index also rose, while the regional Stoxx Europe 600 Index advanced 1.3 percent.
