U.K. Stocks Halt Four-Day Winning Stretch as Homebuilders Slide

Has Brexit Uncertainty Negatively Impacted U.K. Housing?

U.K. stocks fell for the first time in five days, led by losses in homebuilders.

Taylor Wimpey Plc and Berkeley Group Holdings Plc slid more than 3.2 percent after a report by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors predicted British house prices will fall for the first time since 2012.

The FTSE 100 Index lost 0.7 percent at 8:31 a.m. in London. Vodafone Group Plc, WPP Plc and Johnson Matthey Plc traded without the right to their dividend today, shaving 9.8 points off the benchmark gauge.

The broader FTSE All-Share Index and Ireland’s ISEQ Index also dropped 0.7 percent.
