Kenyan Court Approves Opposition Demonstrations, Cord Says

A Kenyan court gave opposition Coalition for Reforms and Democracy party the greenlight to protest against alleged corruption at the country’s electoral body, a party spokesman said.

“We are heading downtown,” Cord spokesman Dennis Onyango said in the capital, Nairobi, ahead of a press conference by party leader Raila Odinga.

Cord held three demonstrations in May, all on Mondays, in which three people were shot dead by police, according to media including Nairobi-based broadcaster Citizen TV.
