Consumer prices probably failed to rise for a fourth consecutive month in May, according to economists surveyed by Bloomberg ahead of data scheduled for 11 a.m. Frankfurt time on Tuesday. While a continued absence of inflation is troubling for the European Central Bank, data from Germany held out the prospect for an upside surprise: Prices in the region’s largest economy unexpectedly halted their decline this month.
