Investors in Europe’s best-performing major tobacco stock got a further lift after Czech lawmakers on Wednesday rejected a bill banning smoking in bars and eateries. Philip Morris Czech Republic AS, a unit of Philip Morris International Inc., jumped as much as 2.4 percent on Thursday, extending returns to more than 26 percent in the past 12 months. The country is the only European Union member that doesn’t restrict smoking in restaurants.
