Even as U.S. fast-food competition mounts, McDonald’s Corp. has maintained a dominant share of customer traffic, according to data from xAd Inc. The closest competitor was Starbucks Corp., which had 11 percent. Subway Restaurants ranked third, despite having more locations than any other chain, because its restaurants are typically smaller and draw less of a crowd.
