United Nations in Mali Says Two Killed During Protests in North

The United Nations peacekeeping mission in Mali said two people were killed on Monday as protesters tried to set “security installations” on fire at the airport in the northern town of Kidal.

Four others were injured in the clashes in which people targeted the UN-protected airport that’s essential for the provision of humanitarian assistance to the area, the UN said in an e-mailed statement Tuesday. The mission is investigating who fired gunshots during the riots, the statement said.
