Five Bombers Shot Dead Near Northeast Nigerian City Maiduguri

Five suspected suicide bombers were shot dead by armed forces as they attempted to enter the northeast Nigerian city of Maiduguri early Friday, according to a pro-government militia group.

The women bombers were sighted at the outskirts of the Borno state capital near the Polo and Giwa barrack areas and were shot dead by militia members, known as youth vigilantes, said Jubrin Gunda, a spokesman for the group.
