Britain has developed quite a taste for the quintessential American treat -- the burger. And it’s not just McDonald’s Big Macs: Upmarket U.S. concepts such as Shake Shack Inc. and Five Guys -- where a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a drink costs about 15 pounds ($21) -- have set up shop in London in recent years, challenging home-grown chains such as Byron and Honest Burgers. Whoever prevails in this all-beef battle, sales (and waistlines) will no doubt expand.
