Move over, Kentucky bourbon -- Irish whiskey is taking hold in the U.S. The Pernod Ricard SA’s Jameson brand is using its Caskmates product, aged in stout-seasoned oak barrels, to tap into demand from younger drinkers for small-batch booze. There is also growing appetite for tequila as the spirit moves away from shots and margaritas to more premium brands made entirely from the agave plant, according to Sanford C. Bernstein analyst Trevor Stirling.
