‘Deadpool’ Is Indestructible at Box Office for Second Week

Deadpool,” the 20th Century Fox film based on a Marvel Comics antihero, held on to first place at the North American box office this weekend, outdrawing three new releases.

The R-rated feature, starring Ryan Reynolds as the indestructible Deadpool, brought in $55 million in U.S. and Canadian theaters, researcher ComScore Inc. said Sunday in a statement. It was forecast to garner $65 million, the estimate of BoxOffice.com. The returning “Kung Fu Panda 3,” from Fox and DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc., kept second place with $12.5 million in sales.
