Hitachi Zosen Completes 2MW Wind Power Station in Northern Japan

Hitachi Zosen Corp. completed construction of a 2-megawatt wind power station in the northern prefecture of Akita.

The station was built near a wind power plant of the same capacity, which started operations in March, the company said in a statement Monday.

Electricity produced from the new station will be sold to Tohoku Electric Power Co., according to the statement. Hitachi Ltd. supplied the 2-megawatt turbine, according to Katsuhiro Nagai, a spokesman for the company.
